Turkey Shootout a Huge Success

The 12th annual Turkey shootout in Goshen In was a huge success. Although there were no discs available for the tournament, over $500 was handed out in cash and merchandise. We added $500 to the pro purse and provided a nice players package for the am players. 88 people played in the event.

On the Saturday before the event, many players tried out the straight driver. Kevin Jones from the South Bend area threw one over 450 feet. All the players liked the disc. We look forward to getting the plastic and the molds right for all 5 of our discs.

If you are interested in becoming a dealer, please click on that on our web site and fill out the form. We look forward to having a great base of dealers.

Thanks to all who participated in the event. All of your support is greatly appreciated!!

Still Working Out the Kinks!

We are continuing to have difficulties in blending the correct plastic. We are trying diligently to get this done. Additionally, there is a situation with the mold that needs attention. ABC Discs wanted so much to have plastic available for the Turkey Shootout in Goshen Indiana this coming weekend. It will not happen, however, we are still going to add the cash to the event. We will also come up with a player’s package for the tournament. It will not include a PDGA approved disc. That was our goal.

We appreciate your patience with all of this.  The web site did not go up sooner as we had many bumps in the road and did not want to get your hopes up too much.  There has been such great support of this venture.  You encouragement is greatly appreciated.

There is good news in the making of the discs.  We are close to a selection for one of our plastics.  It will be one of our upper end plastics and will fly very nice.  The disc is our straight driver and wow did it ever go far!  We cannot wait for all of you to get your hands on our discs!

Have a great day.  Practice your putting!

First discs are molded!!

The first discs have been made using our molds.  We have shot some plastic into our molds.  The result was great.  We will have to retool the mold as one of the standards set forth from the PDGA cannot be met.  The line the disc held is great.  It is our straight driver and it certainly lives up to its billing.  We greatly look forward to releasing the names of our discs in the next week or two as they are approved for play by the PDGA.  This is a very exciting time for us.  We see light at the end of the tunnel.  ABC Discs looks forward to getting these discs into your hands very soon!

Have a great day.  Practice your putting.

It’s Getting Close to Quality Discs!

It’s getting close!

The time for ABC Discs is drawing near.  We are getting very close to having product.  All the molds are done.  We are working on the correct blends of plastic.  From there we may have to tweak things a bit.  We desire to bring you nothing but the finest discs.  Additionally, we must have discs that are PDGA approved.

The building of ABC has been a fabulous journey.  As with all journeys, there has been up and downs along the way.  We have remained persistent and positive throughout.  There has been hiring’s and firings, positive feedback and negative feedback, compliments and complaints, and lots of encouragement.  We have never stopped pushing for the prize of 5 top quality discs.  Never lose sight of your dreams and goals.  We have not.  The persistency has paid off.

We have committed to a tournament on November 15 at Oxbow Park in Goshen Indiana.  This is going to be our roll out of the discs.  We intend to have discs on this date.  There may yet be stumbling blocks in the way.  Regardless of any such trouble, ABC Discs is committed to sweetening the Pro purse and providing a players package to the ams.  In case we are not able to have quality product by this date, there are back up plans.  We will be a huge part in this tournament.

Our website has been revamped.  We have been careful in the amount of information that we put up as plans and directions have changed without notice.  We certainly did not want to put up any information that we could not follow through on.  We did that once with stating that the discs would be ready by the end of October.  That most certainly was our goal.  We strived to attain this goal.  It will not happen.  Moving forward, we are now confident that things will go as planned.  Please check back to this web site often to see where things are and to attain the first discs we produce.

ABC Discs has assembled a first class team dedicated to the long term advancement of discs golf.  I would like to thank the entire team for their efforts and encouragement.  You will not be disappointed with our product.

Finally, I would like to thank all the feedback we have received from the disc golf community.  All the feedback has assisted us with our plans moving forward.  For all those that have signed up for the newsletter, you will be the first to receive breaking news as well as first crack at new discs.  We value all of you and look forward providing you the finest in disc golf equipment!
